When you do an image search for "diabetes" this is just one of the many misleading photos that appears. This is not #diabetes ...This is a macaroon. While #T1D and #T2D hold similar names and both take place in the pancreas, the two differ on a basic level. #Type1diabetes is an autoimmune disease, which can happen to anyone at any time. With Type 1 diabetes, the pancreas stops producing insulin, altogether. Type 2 diabetes is by far the more abundant of the two diseases, in which the pancreas still produces some insulin, but the body is insulin resistant, and/or does not absorb insulin properly. #Type2diabetes is typically tied to metabolism and genetic susceptibility, but not exclusively. Neither of these diseases are caused by a macaroon ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
